At the Beehive early learning centre, we pride ourselves on a warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere that offers a nurturing environment and a stimulating curriculum.

We are a owner operated, boutique centre with a maximin license to cater to 40 children. Thus ensuring your child receives quality education catered to their needs. Our centre is surrounded by bush, creating a calm atmosphere. We have a shaded outdoor area with a sandpit, mud kitchen, water play based feature and playground, accompanied with natural features such as trees and grass. 

 

Our play-based pedagogy based on New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki, supports construction of children’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes to create aspirant and resilient learners through play. We combine age-appropriate activities for the cognitive and non-cognitive skills and development of children.

The three qualities that form a backbone of our guiding philosophy is Maramatanga, pono, and manaakitanga that translates to being open-minded to different perspectives that form our community, to be transparent and to nurture empathy in children through our actions and our spirit. We believe that children are capable learners who have every right to make decisions.

With positive guidance and support they can understand who they are and what they are capable of in their world. This is engraved in our philosophy statement that promises that an attitude of mutual respect is fostered where children have confidence in their individual identity. This philosophy reflects in the  feel (the wairua) of our environment as you walk in through our doors.
